School Spirit, by Kate Leth and Arielle Jovellanos: 4/5
PLEASE MAKE THIS TENDER HIGH SCHOOL STORY INTO A SERIES!! I loved everything about it- the setting, characters, the queerness... Such a beautiful story with an equally beautiful message of loving yourself and being confident in who you are. Also the author Q&A for this one was hilarious.
Ruined, by Sarah Vaughn and Sarah Winifred Searle: 3/5
Not really my jam, not a fan of the whole "ruined woman" plot, and the illustration style didn't jive with me, but I see the merit in including it in this compilation! Bonus points for talking about consent!
Ruby Equation, by Sarah Kuhn and Sally Jane Thompson: 4/5

I really enjoyed this story!! I thought the premise was sweet, the illustration/coloring style was adorable and super atmospheric, and the pacing was super solid for a short story. I always love the "alien who doesn't understand human customs" theme and think it fit really well with the overall plot.
Beauties, by Marguerite Bennett and Trungles: 6/5
MY FAVORITE STORY OF THE BUNCH. WOWWWW oh my god I love love love modern takes on fairytales and thought this was a really inventive spin of Beauty & The Beast fable. The writing was incredible, the illustrations were like Mucha meets Dragon Age Inquisition, and the story had me so emotional. Huge props to the illustrator for being able to capture so much emotion in each character's face, and combine such interesting elements of animals and magic to tell the story.
