Patient Zero

Extremely descriptive to the point of being boring. Most of it is how great the main character, Joe Ledger, is. Characters go out of their way to praise him out of the blue. It is filled with tropes and cringe memes, resulting in little progression to the story.

I found some perseverance to keep reading it, when I started thinking this is a parody of tropes: - Love interest, who doesn't want to like him but can't help herself - Nerdy sidekick - Dr. Evil villain

But my will power was never rewarded, I only received more boring descriptions and barely no story progression.

I should have trusted my guts and stopped reading it after the first chapter.

I had thought I would stick this out. It was boring, but I thought it would get better. And then I read others' reviews and confirmed that this is not the zombie book that one might think it is, so I decided to cut my losses. DNF

Love this book! The audiobook narrator does a phenomenal job with all the voices. The author writes intelligently and interestingly and makes a zombie outbreak seem plausible. Wholeheartedly recommend this!
