Death Without Company

This is a 5-start Western Mystery. To my mind this thriller has it all: gallows humor, sarcasm, intrigue, and an intricate plot. The characters are both believable and worth knowing. The complexity and depth of Native American spirituality explored adds an almost unique dimension to this Longmire tale.

Sometimes the story's the hook. Sometimes it's in the telling. With this it's both. I'd sincerely hoped Cold Dish wasn't a fluke, and this? Well, fluke it was not, and I'm cheerfully diving into the third of the series without a pause.
