Oh Erin Hunter, your bizarre feature of a proper dialogue tag will never not be charming. With Warriors we had mewling and hissing, now we’ve got yipping and barking. As if I’d forget that these characters were dogs.
For the intended younger audience, it’s a good read and has a lot of twists and turns to keep readers interested. For adults who like animal fiction, what you see is what you get. It’s shallow fun that’ll take a couple hours to burn through.
