Munnu paints a human picture to the Kashmir conflict and it is a necessary reading for anyone who wants to understand more about Kashmir. It is very accessible and also very hard to read at the same time. It talks about pat downs at the crack of dawn every day, fake gun battles to kill civilians and labelling them as terrorists, injustices of the Indian army, apathy of the UN and the international community, schools closing down frequently because of curfews and living in Indian occupied Kashmir during the conflict. I do realize that what the book covers is the tip of the iceberg, but it's a really good starting point.
