I really enjoyed this book. I loved Eelyn and I loved Fiske, I loved the way they are with each other. I loved the internal struggle for Eelyn.
This book was well-written, well-constructed, and the characters were deep enough that they felt real and human and messy. I wished at some points that there was a little bit less of the book describing the specific fight scenes, even though they were written so well, and more of the relationships between people. There are some really nice moments between characters but they always felt too short for me. What I'm trying to say is that I just wanted the nice moments between characters to last longer.

I like Fiske so much, he is a really great male lead. Since the book is only about Eelyn we only got to notice him and talk to him when Eelyn does. Almost all of their conversations seemed really short, I wanted longer conversations, more tension, more touches here and there before they kiss, more kisses and wanting before they do anything else.
I know it would be hard since they're in the middle of so much going on, and they all share homes and such, for them to have any alone time. But at the same time I feel like there should have been more opportunities for them to sneak away, one person goes to do a task and the other makes an excuse to go along, just to have a chance to speak to them without everyone around watching.
Even with that one flaw in the book, there was still enough Eelyn and Fiske for me to love them and want to read more, I really hope there is a sequel, it will make me sad if there is because I know that means E and F don't have their happily-ever-after yet, but it will also make me really happy to see more of their relationship now that it's established.
