The Long Way Down

Good urban fantasy read taking place in Las Vegas with a card wielding magician/private eye (yes, all the tropes and a mild flavoring of [a: Tim Powers|8835|Tim Powers|https://images.gr-assets.com/authors/1373471978p2/8835.jpg]). Includes an interesting setup with the protagonist and his new girl-friend a succubus.

My main criticism is that the book is a little bit too predictable. I can already see the plot complications coming up in the next couple of books. But since the formula is well-executed I am already looking forward to reading said books... I hope there are a few actually.

Recommended for fans of urban fantasy detectives with a touch of modern romance.

A good introduction to the series. I look forward to checking it the second book.

Very interesting descriptions of places . Interesting story in the Dresden style, but with plenty of unique perspectives.
