This was a sweet little book, nothing earth shattering, I'll probably have forgotten most of the plot by next year, but it's a nice, friendly, happy book which is just about right for reading on holiday or while hiding indoors from the coronavirus pandemic.
Arthur Pepper is a 69 year old widower who finds a charm bracelet among his wife's things a year after her death, and a phone number on one of them, so he calls it. This leads to a chain of events that take Arthur out of his hibernation and grief and along a series of adventures as he tries to find out more about all the charms on the bracelet. There are many rather improbable coincidences and circumstances, but Arthur helps many people along the way and at the end of the day it's less about the charms and more a reminder that in the end, …
