Review of 'The Reserve' on 'Goodreads'

Based on other books of Russell Banks that I have read, this book was a bit of a surprise. It was nuanced, artful, and subtle, while still providing an impelling narrative that propels the reader forward. I think I had pegged Mr. Banks as a writer who has a message to convey, a moral to supply, but this story dispelled that idea. He is indeed a masterful writer.
