Overall, Power Down is well written, except that in some places the dialog seems redundant, which takes away from the immersive experience. I am always wary of books that build tension or show emotion through the use of profanity as it can serve as a crutch for the author. While the profanity is not profuse throughout, [a:Ben Coes|4095460|Ben Coes|https://d202m5krfqbpi5.cloudfront.net/authors/1384118196p2/4095460.jpg] uses enough of it that it is noticeable. Coes used profanity to show the anger of various characters and it did not ring authentic. I would have liked instead if he had gotten me to the same place through superior writing.
