Colette Coldbrook "decides to check Smithe out from the library because he is the surviving personality of the author of Murder on Mars", and the physical copy of the same book was in the possession of her father when he disappeared and presumed dead.--
Not my favourite Gene Wolfe. Too many tangents and changes of direction in plot. Yes, I know these are typical of Wolfe but it was overdone and not as well plotted as other works.
Cool concept, intriguing plot, super boring delivery. I'm sure there is some intellectual insight and wonder buried in there somewhere, but I was too bored to get my brain in gear to decipher it.
