It took me a while to warm up to this book, reading only a few pages at the time before I was distracted by something else or falling asleep. However, somewhere along the way, I was completely sucked into the letters to and fro Michele. Ginzburg's writing comes to full force as she crawls into the different skins of her characters, all with their own distinct voice and latent relationships to one another. There is a delicate yet extremely forceful simplicity to the way she formulates sentences.
