Ozzy, friend of animals, good husband, temperate drinker, present father, adept student of self.

I found the book to be incredibly easy to read, and a real pleasure to do so, but there were times where I put it down simply based upon the tedium of Ozzy the person, rather than the writing or storytelling. There's a certain tragedy to how the man fails to learn a single lesson from his behaviour and the writing style only serves to underscore this.
For every paragraph of soulful reflection on his failings, his regrets and his misdeeds, there are two chapters glorifying the same with a relish that makes for incredibly enjoyable but troubling reading. I don't want the book to be a tome of self-flagellation and misery, but there's an inconsistency between the man and deeds that is never reconciled.
