I felt icky reading this. Too much of it feeds into old tropes and stereotypes, so it doesn't feel fresh, unique or interesting. It just doesn't offer much for me and at times out right offended me. I think an indigenous author would have handled this differently and in a way that would have brought fresh ideas and perspective, and perhaps better world building. Regardless, I wont be reading farther than this, as I just didn't enjoy it that much.
