Interesting read, challenging at times. Ahmed makes some excellent points but I am not convinced that quite a few of the people he mentions in his book can be considered as polymaths. Also, the lack of female polymaths is disturbing. Where is Olympe de Gouges, Marilyn vos Savant and Susan Sontag, to name just a few of women who made significant contributions to more that three fields.
