I'm giving this book two stars, mostly due to how lurid and interesting some of the concepts are. And the cover art, which is far more lovely than this book deserves.
Otherwise, you have mediocre writing from a man who appears to want to recreate all of the variety of character and dialogue found in your average Matrix fight scene. Every one of his characters is a dull, unelaborated archetype with hardly more social skill than the leather jackets they wear.
Honestly, I feel this book would have been better with no characters at all. Then we could have just swept through the bright hellscapes, unimpeded by insipid interactions and limp jabs at plot.
