Absolutely loved this! It was actually my first Manga. I'm a sucker for LGBT+ created as a medium for education, though I'm not entirely sure who the audience is for this type of manga (with all of the sexy illustration). These types of "straight people come to terms..." stories always make me feel warm, even if it isn't quite the most poignant content for a ... seasoned gay. I did enjoy learning more about Japanese culture in general, but more about their relationship with LGBT+ content. I wasn't familiar with those kinds of attitudes, and it is fascinating hearing it from the perspective of a queer Japanese author.

A fairly quiet book about grief and cultural differences, but also about the damage done to families by even a sort of passive homophobia. Yaichi had become somewhat disconnected to his twin brother Ryoji ever since Ryoji came out to him, and now, after Ryoji's death, his widower has come to Japan to visit the only family Ryoji had left. Yaichi is uncomfortable with Mike, but Mike is so gosh-darned lovable, and grief-stricken, and Yaichi's daughter loves him. The story is largely about Yaichi coming to terms with how he lost his brother.

Mind-blowing side note: at one point Mike explains that a hug is an american custom between friends and just kinda cracked my mind-hole open. Are hugs really a western cultural construct?
