Overall, an okay book. The characters were likeable, although the plot felt a bit cliche. And it was a surprisingly cheerful book (outside of one pointless scene that felt like it was just there to get some "grittiness"), which is always nice in the current field of borderline grimdark fantasy.

Decent traditional fantasy. I enjoyed it, but I had an overall feeling of "I've seen this before", for the entire novel. Parts reminded me of The Davinci Code, parts reminded me a great deal of The Night Angel trilogy (but with less character development than the night angel trilogy), etc. It's worth reading if you're looking for some traditional fantasy and aren't looking for something very unique.
