fiainros reviewed Damia's Children by Anne McCaffrey
Review of "Damia's Children" on 'Goodreads'
This is a fairly quick read. I am finding some bits to be strange as there are phrases that are not common American phrases yet Anne McCaffrey is an American author. Did she move from Britain to America at some point?
This book is a building up of characters. The story is okay, but not really plot driven. There are small occurrences within the book that keep the story moving forward. There were some points where you wanted to keep reading to see what happened next, but I also found it to be really boring in other parts and easy to put down.

Some of the characters from previous Talent books do not have the same personality. While these books are about a new set of characters, it is one of my pet peeves that when main characters are relegated to the sidelines, many authors forget the mains personalities and we get one-dimensional background characters.
The story ends rather abruptly and you get the feeling that Damia's Childrean and Lyon's Pride should have been one large novel rather than two somewhat short (for this genre) novels. It did end in a place that drove the reader to pick up the next novel, to see what happens next. There was really no denouement. This is the second series I have read by Ms. McCaffrey that started with a really strong and interesting first novel that did not live up to expectations in other series novels.
