I read this book fairly quickly over a couple days. I've read the Crystal series and the FT&T series by McCaffrey so far. I do have to say that many of the same traits ooze into all McCaffrey's main heroines. Changing their hair color and height does not make it too different. It becomes clear what McCaffrey values for a strong heroine, or at least what her recipe requires.
As always, though, the story was enjoyable, if a bit predictable for the romance. The writing was decent. I don't think McCaffrey is at the same level as some other author's I enjoy, but she is a pioneer.
