Boston homicide detective Jane Rizzoli is already at the crime scene when medical examiner Maura Isles arrives on the Chinatown rooftop. Rizzoli's gut says they're on the trail of a twisted predator and when a monkey hair is found on the body, other clues point Rizzoli and Isles in the direction of the fable of the Monkey King.

Review of 'The silent girl' on 'Goodreads'

I'm not sure that I have ever read a Rizzoli and Isles book before; I was only familiar with the TV series which I really liked. This book is NOT like series, but I still really liked it! It was fascinating the way streams and ideas woven together to make a complex but believable story that had true mystery and suspense! The culprits were unexpected but honestly believable. The way Ms. Gerritsen went back to close all open questions and doubts was wonderful! And all questionable characters became well explained and settled. Well done!
