The fourth and final book in Zimmerman's retelling of Arthurian legend from the point of view of the women. By this book everyone is getting old; the companions of the round table are falling apart, and various people trying to undermine Arthur for various reasons, ending in the final death of Mordred and Arthur and the fading away of Avalon and Camelot into the mists of legend.
Overall the first book was the best. Still, seems somewhat apropos that I finished the final book of the fall of King Arthur and his kingdom on the day Trump was elected president.
