I found it to be too derivative and the story structure was not to my liking. Telling the story linearly up to the point of departure would have been a better choice for the first volume of the series.
This book is really flat. I only read it because I'm a big fan of the TV series and I regret reading it. The switching of POVs is so confusing. I miss a lot of my favourite characters, also the adults are not part of the story in the book.
I have the say the words: the adaptation is much better than the book!
La idea era buena, pero podría haber dado para mucho más. No explica cómo funciona la nave ni lo que pasó cuando la humanidad tuvo que evacuar la Tierra, pero se eterniza en pasajes cursis y azucarados cada dos por tres que hacen pensar que los personajes necesitan un polvo urgentemente porque están muy salidos, además de otras incongruencias como que no se pueda tener más de un hijo por familia pero los adolescentes no tengan ningún tipo de anticonceptivo. Y por último, los flashbacks son excesivos e innecesarios, cuando llegan ya te imaginas lo que ha sucedido y sólo consiguen interrumpirte la historia constantemente.

It doesn't explained how the ship works nor what happend with humans when they left the Earth, but it takes ages in sickly sweet passages every time which make me think that the characters need sex urgently because they are very hornball, and besides there are another incongruences like that they can't have more than one son or daughter but the teenagers don't know anything about contraceptives. Finally, the flash-backs are excesive and unnecessary, when they appear you already know what happened and they only get to interrupt the story all the time.
