Post Office is the first novel written by the German-American author Charles Bukowski, published in 1971. The book is an autobiographical memoir of Bukowski's years working at the United States Postal Service. The film rights to the novel were sold in the early 1970s, but a film has not been made thus far.

Bukowski's first published novel I think and it is some of the best stuff I have read by him.

Chinaski is my hero, working in the post office dealing with their rules and bureaucracy, crazy power hungry soups and still getting the job done.

Favourite scene in the book is finding a shower in an empty shirt and considering having a shower after taking a crap, had me laughing out loud.

One thing I did notice in this book was that he seemed to care more about women than normal, sometimes he was even tender to them.

Right which of his books is next????
