Review of 'Pictures at a revolution : five movies and the birth of the new Hollywood' on 'Goodreads'

Couldn't put it down. This book will be a joy for cinephiles, and worthwhile for others. It traces the development of the films in contention for the 1968 Academy Awards from inception to award night. Covering such films as Bonnie & Clyde, The Graduate, In the Heat of the Night, Guess Who's Coming to Dinner, and Dr. Doolittle, Mark Harris provides keen insight into the business of film making and and even greater insight into the personalities that would shape movies for the next generation.
