Roman Blood is a murder mystery set in 80 BC, during Sulla's dictatorship. It's written in the first person, the narrator being Gordianus the Finder, who investigates the murder of Sextus Roscius on behalf of Cicero, the defending counsel of the accused. The book is a quick read, however the pacing flags at certain points.
