"When a young boy discovers the body of a woman beneath a thick sheet of ice in a South London park, Detective Erika Foster is called in to lead the murder investigation. The victim, a beautiful young socialite, appeared to have the perfect life. Yet when Erika begins to dig deeper, she starts to connect the dots between the murder and the killings of three prostitutes, all found strangled, hands bound and dumped in water around London. What dark secrets is the girl in the ice hiding?"--From back cover.

Solid if unspectacular police detective novel. Very British, as I had to struggle to understand a few of the colloquialisms, but not a killer at all. I liked the Erika Foster character - tough and determined. The book depended too much on a common failure of these novels - other stupid police focusing on the wrong perp and vehemently squashing any attempt by Foster to find the real killer. Their blindness to the facts went a little too far.

But it all tied up pretty nicely and I will add book 2 [book:The Night Stalker|29073628] to my To Read list, but won't go out of my way to find it.
