Clever (nerdy and smart-alec) and heartfelt (teenage angst, depression, loss, friendship), the story of oneself changes from a kids view to an adults struggle to balance and remain connected. A visit to family in Iran tenderly loosens those things Darius thought were concrete about himself and those that are universal to teenage awkwardness.
