Good artwork, decent enough plot, really boring love triangle and "Jean is the only girl and it causes tension in the group" garbage. I liked the characterization of Beast, Angel, and Iceman though.
A well done update of the X-Men origin story. Borrows the same basic plots from the original 60s X-Men comics, but sets them in the present day (Jean Grey is using an iPhone in the opening scenes). The copy of Uncanny X-Men #1 from 2011 at the end of the collection just makes me sad that Season One isn't the launching point for a complete re-boot of the line. Bobby Drake, Warren Worthington, Jean Grey, Hank McCoy and Scott Summers are far more interesting characters to me than the current line-up.
