I am continually unsure of whether this is a good series or if I'm just invested enough to be entertained regardless. The first half of this was certainly pretty weak, with the whole seduction scheme and trial drawing repeated eye rolls at how the nobles kept hamming it up. The big climactic fight was also pretty bad, swapping from "I have no idea what to do" to having a complete, complex strategy merely by remembering an old legend.

But, you know, still gonna get the next one.
