In Synners, the line between technology and humanity is hopelessly slim. A constant stream of new technology spawns crime before it hits the streets; the human mind and the external landscape have fused to the point where any encounter with "reality" is incidental.

Not bad, hotwire

I clearly have my gripes with this cyberpunk novel – as in: it’s not cyberpunk enough for me; and it could have benefited from way less pages, it was at times a slog to read – but I still enjoyed the story. With Gibson’s blessing on the backside of the cover I had high hopes it would be similar to his Neuromancer novels, but this turned out not to be the case. It’s its own thing, which is not necessarily bad, it’s just not stone-home awesome.
