The Rescue

This is not my usual genre, but I actually kind of liked it. The number of deceptions by otherwise potentially reasonable characters was jaw-dropping. But the true friends pointed out were refreshing, and it was nice that EVERYONE did indicated the "hell in a hand basket" overall feeling.
There was definitely a realm of fear and stress, and there was a fair about of "can we really trust him?" The breathless situations kept the heart beating!

The hero is a sociopath, the villains are sociopaths. There are bad and "even" worse guys. I'll put this author's work in the "been there, done that" category. By way of full disclosure, I gave up on this at about 40%...
