Review of 'The Power of Geography' on 'Goodreads'

4 stars

This follow-up to Prisoners of Geography focuses on 8 countries and 2 zones: Australia, Iran, Saudi Arabia, UK, Greece, Turkey, Ethiopia, Spain, the Sahel, and outer space. These seem to be the areas that Marshall currently finds relevant in geopolitics, so each one gets an essay. These essays include current affairs, the history that led to them, the challenges and opportunities they face, and where he thinks they'll go in the future.

Where Prisoners of Geography covered continents and large regional areas, this is focused on the geopolitical history and status of the specified countries above. Marshall is an expert in his field, and I was able to endure some of his more tedious tangents in here because I knew I was getting a summary of current geopolitics from a top source. Read this to learn about what and where Marshall is currently interested in.
