Meh...much like with “If Then” I saw the potential story this could be and was annoyed that it wasn’t that.

I almost stopped reading this early on because I found the third person present POV so distracting. It finally normalized for me and I started getting into the book. I kept seeing reviews call this a dystopian novel and I didn't really see anything that made it dystopian in my mind. Creepy in the level of monitoring the Hosts endure, but they signed up to be in this totalitarian environment.
Anyway, I ended up finding this more interesting than maybe I thought it was going to be when I first started it, but I didn't care for the ending. Not the epilogue, but the last chapter or so. It just seemed like a complete cop out from the author's perspective. How is it satisfying for the reader to just fade to black after all of that? It's not.
