Review of 'Steampunk II: Steampunk Reloaded' on 'Goodreads'

The more steampunk I read, the more I become convinced that it does not deserve to be considered it's own genre. This collection, which seems to have been put together as an attempt to show that it is it's own thing, and in the process manages to do exactly the opposite. A diverse collection, spanning all sorts of genres, where the only thing linking them together is the Victorian ascetic, and even that sometimes feels totally unnecessary and even tacked onto what would otherwise have been a fine story.
While there were a couple of good stories in this too long collection, they were vastly overwhelmed by far too much drek in desperate need of editing.
