A delightful first in series, well worth the read.
Maggie’s life has fallen apart after she arrests her husband. Leaving her marriage and her job as a police officer with the San Francisco police department, she goes to visit her Aunt Noreen on a small island in Ireland. Her family used to spend summers there, so she’s happy to get away from all the drama back home, visit old acquaintances, and help out at her aunt’s cafe.
Until the town’s nastiest gossip is murdered there, and Aunt Noreen is arrested. Since the oafish local policeman is more interested in his golf game than in solving the crime, Maggie is forced to investigate.
