This one almost worked for me. I liked the style and I enjoyed Elsa as an unlikeable protagonist. But I expected more magical realism than I got (at least in the first 70 pages). I have a hard time getting engaged in stories that are largely just contemporary family dramas. I need something more - like the style of On Beauty or the magical realism (?) of Freshwater.
