House of Darken

This is YA-Fantasy Romance for sure. It is pretty mindless as a book. The characters are pretty weak, the dialogue is poor, but the world is interesting. It is a pretty cool blend of a more contemporary version of high fantasy with a connection to modern America. A pretty interesting idea, but one that is not that well executed. If I were not someone who is taken in by original fantasy world building, I would probably not even give this 2 stars, as is I am feeling generous because of the world. Overall, I would not recommend, unless you are in it for the world, then it is worth reading. The love story in it is a worse version of the one in Twilight, minus the vampires.
