When I'm Gone

This had potential. Dead wife had the foresight to write letters to her husband for him to open on specific days in the first year following her death. The author should've kept it simple and stopped here. Instead, the letters were used to craft a mystery, eventually revealing a secret carried to the grave. That, too, could be fine - if it didn't feel like a soap opera writer was drafted to pull as much wacky shit as possible into the revelation of the secret.

Adding to my frustration, I listened to this as an audiobook and while the narrator had a good voice, he sounded patronizing. Just nope.

There are no words to say how bad this book is. It's like it was written by a sixth grader. Couldn't get through 100 pages of it.

I was in the mood for a good cry when I picked up this book, but what sounded like another Tear-Jerker was surprisingly much more. When Luke is left to raise his children alone after the untimely death of his wife he is totally lost without her. Suddenly letters begin to mysteriously appear written by his wife before her death, but who is sending them? Her best friend claims no knowledge of them but she is keeping secrets too. Luke begins to suspect his wife had secrets from him and what he uncovers is not at all what I was expecting. There are lots of twists and turns in this well told tale.
