My favorite Ishiguro. But I should add that it is slow and very strange and probably not for everyone.
The stream of consciousness feeling reminded me of Woolf's To the Lighthouse, which I think helped me continue even during the difficult bits. The feelings that the book evokes are strong, but not always memorable. Ishiguro is a great talent.
