On the Abolition of All Political Parties

Weil nails the reasons why political parties are a danger to freedom and truth. However, although I think political parties are a scourge, I'm less sanguine about passing a law or laws outlawing them. Can't lobbies and uncapped campaign contributions, as well as dozens of other "groups," be just as dangerous? And how would such a law get past the Assembly and Petition clauses of the first amendment? Still, just thinking about how corrupting political parties can be is a move in the right direction.

A short, thought provoking read.
