Good book. It goes back through the major plagues in US history and mentions some of the "heroes" involved in their cures and eradication. It's very interesting how much society and the invention of antibiotics have changed current perceptions of the ancient plagues. Some of them are just as contagious as they were then, but they are a lot more curable.
And the author focuses a fair amount on the current anti-vaccine craze, and rightfully excoriates it.
Of course, the current plague, in which we are in the middle of, isn't and can't be addressed as thoroughly, because we still don't have a vaccine against AIDS, and we still victimize and vilify – un-rightfully so, even for the born-again Christians – the victims.
Overall, good points and good attitude.
