Gritty YA with lots of body horror.
There are no easy choices in this world. Nita lives in a toxic environment where no one can be trusted. This is not your usual YA where the protagonist is cuddled and given time to learn and make mistakes without facing the consequences.
Hmm yes it was more messed up that I thought and also gorier lol, even the main character is in a very gray area but I liked this uniqueness
