Stephanie Garber: A Curse for True Love (Hardcover, 2023, Flatiron Books)

Review of 'A Curse for True Love' on 'Goodreads'

Pretty on par with the other books, easy to read, writing is nice, i dont like how the girlie is always in danger and being saved, how the plot feels too convenient and easy, it's taking me out of the story a bit, but i like the romantic moments, and I will check out her future books^^

Ana Huang: King of Greed (2023, Little, Brown Book Group Limited)

Review of 'King of Greed' on 'Goodreads'

Yep, Ana Huang writes a good contemporary romance, with some angst, some sexy times, family and friends, fun and sad moments, Kai and Isabella are still my fave but I like the second chance romance trope, and it was well done

reviewed The Haunting of Tram Car 015 by P. Djèlí Clark (Dead Djinn Universe, #0.3)

P. Djèlí Clark: The Haunting of Tram Car 015 (Paperback, 2019, Tor)

The Haunting of Tram Car 015 returns to the alternate Cairo of Clark's short fiction, …

Review of 'The Haunting of Tram Car 015' on 'Goodreads'

Wanted something short, and remembered this novella set in 1900s Cairo but with djinn and magic, and I loved how atmospheric it was with the setting, and how the plot was perfect for the size, also the author mixed "real" life subject matters with the fantasy and it was well done^^

Review of 'Two Crooked Alders' on 'Goodreads'

Well, Miss Gillig sure knows how to write a sequel ! I liked this more than the 1st book, how the storyline developped and wrapped up, the new romance sub plot and POV, and the relationship btw the main character and the "monster" in her head

Sangu Mandanna: The Very Secret Society of Irregular Witches (Paperback, 2022, Berkley)

As one of the few witches in Britain, Mika Moon knows she has to hide …

Review of 'The Very Secret Society of Irregular Witches' on 'Goodreads'

Cute, easy to read, wholesome with found family, loved the big mansion above the sea setting, and the cosy fantasy with the witches too, and i liked the romance ofc haha, it's not a new fave or anything though

Emilia Hart: Weyward (2023, HarperCollins Publishers Limited)

Review of 'Weyward' on 'Goodreads'

Its a debut that has good writing, great atmosphere, liked the witchy storylines, 3 girls centuries apart, the POVs were not jarring and flowed well together, but I found the storylines not gripping enough, especially Violet's, it was pretty much not a surprise what happened plus kinda depressing at times haha, i like how the family cottage was present in all the storylines and the connexion to nature

Chloe Gong: Foul Heart Huntsman (2023, McElderry Books, Margaret K.)

Review of 'Foul Heart Huntsman' on 'Goodreads'

Dont know why i kept putting it down and picking up other books, because i did like this book, especially the characters, they are so colorful, side characters too, and i like the dialogues, the humor, the romances, so yeah, a really solid YA series^^

Isabel Cañas: Vampires of el Norte (2023, Penguin Publishing Group)

As the daughter of a rancher in 1840s Mexico, Nena knows a thing or two …

Review of 'Vampires of el Norte' on 'Goodreads'

First of all, amazing cover wow,
This is an historical romance book, barely horror/fantasy and i couldnt be more happy lol, I melted a few times, im once again reminded that these kind of men are FICTIONAL but that's okay, I also loved Nena and her machete, it was also very easy to read

SenLinYu: Manacled (2018, Archive of Our Own)

Harry Potter is dead. In the aftermath of the war, in order to strengthen the …

Review of 'Manacled' on 'Goodreads'

Honestly don't know how it makes sense, im not even a fan of Harry Potter, but this fic is a staple in Dramione fics, and now i get it, i could not put it down despite the darker themes and tones, i loved the dual timeline, and i could not stop reading despite how big it was

Review of 'Cage of Dreams' on 'Goodreads'

Such an interesting YA duology, the tone reminds me of A Deadly Education actually, a lot of humor with some horrific/gruesome scenes that make them not that horrible to read, I loved how the main characters was not AT ALL like other girlies, for real lol (though i like other girlies too)
