Who could tell the true stories of the gods and goddesses of Olympus better than modern-day demigod Percy Jackson? In this action-packed tour of Greek mythology, Percy gives his hilarious personal views on the feuds, fights and love affairs of the Olympians. Want to know how Zeus came to be top god? How many times Kronos ate one of his own kids? How Athena literally burst out of another god's head? It's all here in black and white ...

The references still won't age well.

The one thing that annoys me about this book is the same that annoys me with the Demigods: A lot of the references are already too old for younger readers, and I'm pretty sure they were too old when it was published. They didn't age well in the a Pinky-and-the-Brain (or other Spielberg cartoons) sort of way; they kind of... just go over their heads.

This frustrates me because I wanted to use different stories as an introduction to Greek mythology in a literature class, but I don't want to have to waste time answering questions about weird commercials or strange habits of 90's children. (And I know my students would do this to me because they do it all the time.)

It's enjoyable, though.
