El Fantasma de la Ópera se ha convertido en uno de mis clásicos favoritos.
Desde las primeras páginas te sumerge plenamente en el misterio de la Ópera Garnier, con sus maravillosas descripciones del espacio que realmente te transportan al tiempo y el lugar de los hechos.
Ha sido una experiencia increíble leer este libro. Personalmente las vibes de los libros son muy importantes y las de este han sido impecables.
Erik me ha parecido un personaje sumamente interesante y con la conclusión final del autor realmente se gana tu compasión a pesar de las atrozidades que hace. El nivel de obsesión, tragedia y drama de este libro es maravilloso.
Por último me gustaría mencionar lo mucho que me gustaron las referencias a otras obras y en especial el como en esta edición en la que lo he leído te explica todo en los pie de página.

Ein faszinierendes Buch. Die Geschichte kennt natürlich jeder, dieses Buch ist die Grundlage für ein weltbekanntes Musical und ist im Lauf der Zeit mehrfach verfilmt worden. Als ich irgendwann auf einem Bücherflohmarkt auf Das Phantom von Susan Kay gestoßen bin, habe ich beschlossen, dass ich dieses Buch zuerst lesen möchte, um zu wissen, auf welcher Grundlage Susan Kay ihr Buch geschrieben hat. Und ich wurde nicht enttäuscht und bin schon sehr gespannt, welche Lebensgeschichte sich Susan Kay für Erik ausgedacht hat.

Der Schreibstil ist schon ein wenig außergewöhnlich - zum einen ist man die auktoriale Erzählweise heute kaum noch gewohnt und stolpert doch ab und zu über die Anmerkungen des Erzählers zu seiner Recherche und die eingestreuten weiterführenden Informationen, die mit der eigentlichen Handlung nur bedingt zu tun haben. Zum anderen merkt man doch, dass dieses Buch (wie viele andere Klassiker auch) eigentlich als Fortsetzungsroman in einer Zeitung erschienen ist, …
