Probably completely wrong about the Horned God and Goddess-worship and all that but who cares? Somewhere between the PJF of "To Your Scattered Bodies Go" and the flat-out porn of "JC on the Dude Ranch" is this classic example of New Wave sci-fi. Not that it's necessarily a 'classic' itself but it's a classic example.
