I love Zadie Smith's essays. Not many writers examine the fundamental philosophical questions of life and society without getting pretentious or simplistic. It is all so new and so familiar at the same time. There are so many gems in this book. The essays on joy and Justin Bieber are just delightful. The book reviews are not as good as the others, so feel free to skip that section.
