I won a copy of this from a Goodreads give away.
Not totally sure what I thought about this book. The story was intriguing, the writing was amazing, but I was really confused and lost for most of the book. I guess I'm not familiar enough with Russian folklore (okay, not at all) to have grasped a lot of the symbolism. Beautiful (and depressing) story, though.
Something that occurred to me later was that this is precisely the type of book that encourages me to read more in a similar vein. I would be interested in learning more about this particular mythology, and I can see myself rereading this book multiple times.
