I was prepared to hate this. It's a silly title, it's a silly book, it is very violent, it's full of horrible things and references to horrible things and the start of the book didn't do much to convince me this wasn't just speculative gore and bad jokes. A great new entry by one of my favorite weird ass authors, there was a bit too much Deus Ex Machina (sometimes literally) for me to bump it to 5 stars.
Zoey was a true fish out of water and spends about 99.7 percent of her time as a damsel in distress, and is a much more engaging character before The Suits are introduced. Clearly Wong intends to revisit the character later, and I look forward to it, but would have truly enjoyed seeing her have a bit more growth.
